The possibility of interpreting events in underground installations at 7 h 35 min UT on 23 February 1987 as the detection of neutrino fluxes from supernova SN1987A is discussed. That interpretation leads to several difficulties in reconciling the data from the Kamiokande-2 and 1MB detectors and also in explaining the observed anisotropy of the interaction products.
