Increase in the critical current of a metal-oxide ceramic under pressure

A significant increase in the critical current density of YBa2Cu307 _ δ samples has been observed under pressure: d h\jc /dP~Q. 1 kbar ~1. When there is a substantial decrease in the width (Δ Tc) of the resistive R (T) transition to the superconducting state (d ΙηΔ Tc/dP = — 0.06 kbar ~1), the critical temperature Tc increases considerably more slowly {d\rsTc/dP — 0.003 kbar~',P5 lOkbar).
