Asymmetry of p-d exchange interaction in magnetically mixed Cd1-xMnxS crystals
An anomalous behavior of the widths of exciton resonances has been observed in magnetically mixed Cd x x Mnx S crystals (χ = 0.001). Under conditions corresponding to a giant spin splitting of exciton states, the width of the Γ5+ and Γ5" exciton resonances changes by nearly an order of magnitude, from 1.2 meV to 8 meV. The observed behavior indicates an asymmetry of the exchange interaction for the states of carriers with different spin directions.
