The superconducting and structural properties of YBa2Cu3Ox single crystals with various oxygen concentrations have been studied. The nature of the transition to the superconducting state suggests that the oxygen is distributed nonuniformly in the samples with χ <7. The Tc(x) curve is found to behave irregularly at χ < 6.5.
