Relativistic hypernuclei have been detected and reliably identified for the first time. The cross section for the production of д Η by a particles with a momentum of 18 GeV/c in a CH2 target is 0.4 ±££ μЪ. The average momentum and average lifetime of \ Η are 16.7 ± 0.2 GeV/c and (2.2 + ) X 10~10 s, respectively.
