Determination of the probability for the decay ρ0→μ+μ-

The events corresponding to the formation of the 1+S state of the ρ°π~ system have been identified in the study of the coherent dissociation reaction 7T~ *+ Cu -> Cu + p° + π~ with a subsequent decay of ap° meson into a/z +μ ~ pair at 50 GeV/c. The cross section of this process and the probability for the decay ρ°->μ +μ ~ have been determined. The measured probability value in the mass interval of the/?07T" system l.O-l^GeV/^isBr^^-= (4.6±0.2stat±0.2syst)XlO-5.
