Band metamagnetism of the compound Er0.55Y0.45Co2 in a weak magnetic field

It is concluded from measurements of the electrical resistivity, the thermal expansion, and neutron diffraction that the d band of the compound Er0 55 Y0 45 Co2 undergoes an irreversible splitting when a weak external magnetic field (~4kOe) is applied at 4.2 K.
