Magnetic properties of single-crystal and polycrystalline CuO
The magnetic susceptibility of single crystals and polycrystalline samples of CuOj __ δ and Cu0 99 Li0 01 О has been studied over a temperature range including TN ~230 K. The anomalous behavior σίχ(Τ) and the anisotropy which are observed are discussed in connection with a quasi-one-dimensional nature of the system and the possible formation of singlet Cu2+-Cu2+ pairs.
