Incommensurate structures in high-Tc superconducting crystals
Incommensurate structures with modulation wave vectors q! = <5,c* and q2 = <52c* have been observed in Bi2 2Sr18CaCu208+x crystals. The nature and behavior of the new and previously detected superstructures are discussed. It is concluded that the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system belongs to the family of incommensurate crystals.
