Observation of weak neutral current in interaction of fission antineutrinos with deuterons

The first results have been obtained in an effort to measure the cross section for the interaction of fission antineutrinos with deuterium nuclei in the channel of the weak neutral current: anc = (3.0+ 1.0) X 10 ~ 44 cm Vfission. The statistical accuracy has been improved for the cross section for the channel of a weak charged current: acc — (1.1 + 0.2) Χ 10-44 cm2 fission. The ratio of the cross sections for the two channels has been determined: Γ t = σο0/σης. — 0.37 ± 0.14.
