Charge density waves and radiative transitions in sodium and potassium
Several structural features have been observed in the emission spectrum of sodium and potassium as a result of a bombardment with slow electrons. The effect of temperature (293-4.2 K) on the emission characteristics were studied. The results are explained in terms of the recombination radiati on of nonequilibrium carriers in the energy superstructure created by the charge density waves.
