Photoinduced gyrotropy and photoinduced light scattering in the chalcogenide glass As2S3
Some new photoinduced effects, specifically, a circular dichroism and an intense light scattering, have been observed during the exposure of bulk samples of the chalcogenide glass As2S3 to intense light with hv < Eg from a He-Ne laser. These effects suggest that an interaction of light with hv < Eg with weak links of the glass is manifested in the nucleation of anisotropic and gyrotropic scatterers.
