A photoinduced change in magnetic properties, which depends on the polarization of the exciting light, has been observed in hematite single crystals containing europium ions in the weakly ferromagnetic phase. This eifect is observed at temperatures Г<70 К. A possible mechanism for the photomagnetic interactions is discussed.
