Dynamics of oxygen in the CuO2 plane in LaSrAl1-xCuxO4

It is shown that Cu2+ centers in LaSrAl1_xCux04 are Jahn-Teller centers. Experiments reveal some Cu centers at which the ligand oxygens in the Cu02 plane migrate between positions corresponding to two minima of the adiabatic potential. A model is constructed for these centers.
