Magnetic-field-induced photovoltaic effect in an asymmetric system of quantum wells

A magnetic-field-induced photovoltaic effect has been observed in the GaAs/ AlGaAs system. The sign and magnitude of the emf Kphv depend on the temperature and wavelength of the light. The effect is explained on the basis of an asymmetry which the electron spectrum acquires in a magnetic field for an asymmetric electron wave function.
