Optical anisotropy of a laser plasma
The optical anisotropy of a laser plasma has been studied experimentally for the first time. At pump intensities ~5 Χ 1014 W/cm2, the optical anisotropy in the region of the plasma with electron densities to ~2 Χ 1020 cm-3 is governed by spontaneous magnetic fields. Gradients of the electron density have no significant effect on the plasma anisotropy.
