Density-wave defects and screening in quasi-1D conductors
A nonlinear screening by one-electron excitations determines the length and energy scales of perturbations of the phase of density waves in quasi-ID conductors at low temperatures. A study is made of phase solitons and phase perturbations of density waves caused by impurities. Metal islands may form at the center of a soliton and around impurities. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.
