Detection of the radiative decay D(1285)→φγ

The relative probability for the decay BR [D( 1285) -^φγ] = 0.9 + 0.2 ± 0.4) X 10~3 and its partial width T[D( 1285) ^φγ] = 23 + 5 + 10 keV have been determined. It is concluded that the E( 1420) meson apparently does not belong to the axial nonet.
