Observation of parity violation and a left-right asymmetry in the reaction 35CI(n,p)35S
The P-odd and left-right asymmetry in the emission of protons by the compound nucleus in the reaction 35C1 (n,p) 35S have been measured for the first time. The coefficients are ap = (1.51 ± 0.34) X 1(Г4 and <£R (2.40 ± 0.43)X1СГ4. A limitation is found on the dependence of the total cross section on the neutron helicity: \a„ \ < 2X 10~6 (at a 90% confidence level).
