Study of the decay D(1285)→ K+K-π0

The decay D (1285)—+K ™7г° has been studied. The invariant-mass distribution of the kaon pair has been found with a statistical base an order of magnitude better than in previous studies. Analysis of the differential spectrum dN/dmK +Kin the ^-dominance model shows that the δ (980) meson cannot be described as a Breit-Wigner resonance with a small width. The "effective width" of the δ meson at the point yfs = 1 GeV/c2 is Γδ > 180 MeV/c2. This result indicates a strong coupling of the δ meson with hadrons.
