A novel method has been used to determine the sign of the quadrupole constant d of the muonium atom. The idea is to study the frequencies of transitions between the energy levels of triplet muonium (F — 1) as functions of the external magnetic field. At T = 293 K, the value d = 0.517 ± 0.008 MHz is found.
