Fundamental absorption edge of the Peierls insulator of orthorhombic tantalum trisulfide
The spectral distribution of the response of orthorhombic TaS3 is obtained. It is shown that a fundamental absorption edge at energies corresponding to the Peierls gap as well as a narrow absorption line at the center of the gap exist.
