Density relaxation during a rapid transition of 4He from the two-phase state to the single-phase state near the vaporization critical point
The relaxation of density inhomogeneities upon a rapid transition of 4He from the two-phase state to the single-phase state has been studied near the critical point for vaporization. The scaling of the relaxation time has been determined. The relaxation slows because of a decrease in the thermal diffusivity.
