Decays of  mesons involving axions and massless axions: π→ l+νl+a(a')

Decays of the type π ~-> /" -fv, + a are analyzed. The probability for the electron version of the decay is ÷(ÔÇ~-+Å~ +ve + α)~1(Γ9, which is comparable to the width of the primary background decay, 7ç"-> e~ +ve + γ. Events which do not correspond to a two-particle kinematics can be identified, in the absence of an accompanying γ ray, as decays of the type
