Observation of the Compton effect at the π- meson
Elastic scattering of π~ mesons by photons (the Compton effect at the π~ meson) has been detected experimentally for the first time. The polarizability of the charged pion is estimated to be aw — (5 ±4)X 10~43 cm3.
