Oxygen diffusion in TmBa2Cu3O6+x at room temperature

The NMR of thulium-169 has been used to study the oxygen ordering dynamics in nonequilibrium TmBa2Cu306+^ samples at room temperature. The average time for the diffusive hop 0(5) —► 0(1) of an oxygen atom at room temperature has been found to be trt~1 h. This result corresponds to a diffusion coefficient DRT~0.5X10-14 cm2/s.
