Transition to a spin glass and anomalous temperature dependence of the Hall coefficient for a gap-free semiconductor
A transition to a spin-glass state has been observed at Τ S 1 К in semimagnetic gap-free semiconductors with the composition Hg[_xM%Te (0 <X <0.075) at Mn concentrations well below the percolation threshold (Xc =0.17). Under these conditions the direct exchange interaction between Mn ions, which gives rise to the spin glass, is negligibly small. The transition to the spin-glass state indicates the existence of a new low-temperature region on the X-T phase diagram.
