Stimulated Mandel'shtam-Brillouin scattering in a multimode glass fiber lightguide

Stimulated MandePshtam-Brillouin scattering (SMBS) is observed for the first time in a multimode glass fiber lightguide (GFL). The low divergence of the SMBS radiation and the uniformity of its field are related to the inversion of the wave front of the laser pumping field.
