Three mixed (IBr2-) polyhalides BEDT-TTF (a, /?, and γ phases) with different conducting properties have been obtained. The a and β phases, which are polymorphic modifications, have the same composition (BEDT-TTF)2 IBr2. The a phase is a semiconductor with Ε = 0.25 eV and the β phase is a metal which undergoes a transition to the superconducting state at Tc = 2 К and at normal pressure.
