Radiation of exciton molecules in uniaxially compressed germanium

For the conditions of strong uniaxial compression of germanium along a nonsymmetrical crystallographic direction, close ( — 5°) to the (001) axis, the radiation of exciton molecules (EM) has been observed and their binding energy has been estimated to be Δ M = 0.15 + 0.1 meV.
