Strong Langmuir turbulence as a source of radio emission
Two mechanism for generation of electromagnetic radiation by strong Langmuir turbulence were investigated: radiation of the plasma frequency and at the second harmonic of the plasma frequency. Expressions were obtained for the electromagnetic-radiation power in these two cases. The presented theory is used for a quantitative explanation of type III solar radio bursts.
