Appearance of Fano antiresonance in excited exciton states In CdS

The spectral and magneto-optical studies have shown for the first time that the doublet form of the absorption bands observed at low temperatures in very thin single crystals of CdS in the region of excitons with a principal quantum number η = 2 is due to antiresonance interaction of S and Ρ states analogous to the Fano effect.
