Luminescence of ferromagnetic semiconductor HgCr2Se4 with quantumenergy exceeding the width of the forbidden band

It is found that in HgCr2Se4 the cathodoluminescence and photoluminescence spectra lie much higher than the absorption edge. The results obtained indicate that the distribution of excited electrons within the conduction band is essentially a nonequilibrium distribution.
