A nonmonotonic magnetic field dependence of the Faraday effect (Faraday rotation as a function of the magnetic field passes through a maximum) in paramagnetic Gd3Ga5012 is observed at 4.2 К at a wavelength of 0.47 μτα. A theoretical explanation of this effect is given.
