A narrow phonon neck in the luminescence of CaF2-Eu+ crystals and the anharmonic lifetime of terahertz acoustic phonons
A narrow phonon neck has been detected in the d-^f fluorescence of CaF2-Eu2+ crystals from the r\{Af65d) state split by deformation. The mode-averaged anharmonic lifetime of the 2-THz acoustic phonons in fluorite was determined from the fluorescence kinetics τΡ~2χ 10~7 sec.
