Light-induced Freedericksz transition in an MBBA crystal
The Freedericksz effect in a light wave in an MBBA crystal has been studied. The experimental results are compared with the theory of aberrational self-focusing. The Freedericksz effect has been observed in a circularly polarized light wave. Rotation of the polarization plane has been observed in light beam during self-focusing.
