Magnetic-flux quantization in a cylindrical film of a normal metal
An oscillatory dependence of the resistance of a cylindrical magnesium film on the longitudinal magnetic field has been observed at helium temperatures. In accordance with the predictions of the APtshuler-Aronov-Spivak (AAS) theory (B. L. APtshuler, A. G. Aronov, and Β. Z. Spivak, in Pis'ma Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 33, 101 (1981) [JETP Lett. 33, 94 (1981)]}, the oscillation period corresponds to a change in the magnetic-field flux in the cylindrical cavity by the amount of a flux quantum φ 0 = hc/2e.
