Selective dissociation produced by the action of a strong IR field on weak composite oscillations of polyatomic molecules
We investigate dissociation and isotope separation induced by a strong IR field acting on various composite vibrations of the molecules SF6 and CC14. We show that the dissociation rate is proportional to the dipole moment of the excited radiation.
