Effect of orientation order on the helical twist of cholesteric liquid crystals
An anomalous temperature dependence of the pitch ρ of the helix has been observed for a number of substances that form cholesteric liquid crystals (CLC). A model is proposed that makes it possible to treat the p(T) dependences in different cholesteric systems from a unified point of view.
