Structural phase transition in the Pb1-xSnxSe system under the influence of temperature and hydrostatic pressure
A structural phase transition was observed for the first time in the crystals of the system Pb^Sn^Se (x =0.41). Measurements of the resistivity and of the Hall constant as a function of the temperature and pressure have revealed a strong change in the conductivity (by four-five orders of magnitude) in the phase-transition region. The phase-transition temperature depends on the concentration of the free carriers and ranges from 0 to 250 К when the carrier density changes from 1019 to 3X1018 cm-3.
