Cascade predissociation of the molecules CS*2 and Rb*2
Nonradiative and collisionless decay of the molecules Cs*2 and Rb*2 that are optically excited in states with energy lower than the dissociation energy is established. The decay is attributed to a sequence of nonadiabatic intramolecular transitions.
