Ion acceleration in the interaction of a strong-current relativistic electron beam with a spatially-periodic magnetic field

We present the results of experiments on the acceleration of argon and nitrogen ions in a relativistic plasma generator of the "ubitron" type. It is shown that at an electron-beam current 2-3 к A, an energy 0.3 MeV and τ = 1x10 6 sec, a current 2-3 A of accelerated ions is observed with energy up to 1.0 MeV and r = 1 X 10 ~6 sec.
