A hyperfine structure of the defects of exchange interaction has been observed at 4.2°K in the amino-acid biradical o^n£>4CH2)4-<^n.io A study of the EPR spectra at 4.2°K shows that the "defective" radicals retain the crystal symmetry of the biradical lattice, and are apparently located near molecular vacancies.
