Widely tunable radiation source based on second harmonic generation in lithium iodate
Frequency tuning in a range 5000-6000 A was observed to accompany intense noncollinear second-harmonic generation in an L1IO3 crystal in which the second harmonic was excited by light pulses. Noncollinear second harmonic generation was observed also in KDP crystals. An explanation is offered.
