Total cross section for the absorption of γ quanta by Th232, U235, U238, and Pu239 in the region of dipole giant resonance

We consider the evolution of the form of the photodisintegration cross sections of the nuclei Th232, U2", U238, and Pu239, measured by the absorption method, as Ζ varies from 90 to 94. The observed change in the form of the cross section is connected with the properties of the nuclear surface.
