Cooperative Jahn-Teller effect in the garnet Ca3Mn2Ge3O12
The tetragonal structure distortion (c/aMAX = 1.003) due to the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect was observed for the first time and investigated by neutron diffraction in a compound with garnet structure (Ca3Mn2Ge30,2) in the interval 4.2-300 °K.
