Influence of the Ordering of Er Ions on Ions Sublattices in Erbium Orthoferrite
In a study of the optical and Mossbauer spectra of Er3+ in ErPe03 with ordered rare-earth ions, the authors of [1, 2] observed a splitting of the doublet of the ground state of Er3 . They attributed this doublet to dipole and exchange interactions between the rare-earth and iron sublattices, as well as between the rare-earth ions. At the same time, the measurement results presented in these papers do not make it possible to separate the contributions of each type of interaction.
