Abstract
One of the main recent breakthroughs in cellular biology is a
discovery of numerous non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs). We outline
abilities of long ncRNAs and articulate that the corresponding
kinetics may frequently exhibit stochastic bursts. For example, we
scrutinize one of the generic cases when the gene transcription is
regulated by competitive attachment of ncRNA and protein
to a regulatory site. Our Monte Carlo simulations show that in
this case one can observe huge long transcriptional bursts
consisting of short bursts.
