Generation of flexural waves in a solid by an intense nanosecond electron beam
Intense flexural waves excited in a solid plate by an intense electron beam have been observed and studied. Experimental conditions under which flexural and longitudinal rarefaction waves can be observed simultaneously by laser interferometry have been determined. Corresponding experiments have been carried out. The results are used to determine elastic moduli and Griineisen parameters of various solid materials, including composites. © 1995
