Kapitsa jump in a gas of spin-polarized atomic hydrogen
The Kapitsa jump at the interface of a gas of spin-polarized atomic hydrogen and liquid helium is analyzed. At any temperature the dominant mechanism for energy exchange between the gas and the surface is an adsorption mechanism. Estimates from the results deri ved here show that the increase in the Kapitsa jump with decreasing temperature poses serious obstacles to reaching the region of Bose condensation.
